- The connection between the early grades and later determinants of success (third grade reading level, high school graduation, etc.)
- Strategies to reengage with children and their families around learning goals
- Strategies to build a more reflective teaching practice
- Strategies to work alongside other grade levels and vertically align learning experiences

- Learn how early learning and intervention is critical for at-risk populations
- Become more familiar with the learning standards of the grades below and above yours
- Understand the continuum of learning that takes place pre-K to third grade and how each grade level builds on the one before
- Create a plan of action that addresses gaps in children’s understanding
- Create opportunities for students to self-reflect on their performance and motivation alongside the teacher
- Learn why early childhood education is not babysitting.
- Learn why social emotional learning is just as important, if not more important, as academic skills.
